Information Collection and Use

Sculpture in the South is the sole owner of information collected on this site. We collect information from our users at several different points on our Web site.

Contact Page and Email Notification Form –
We request information from users on our Contact page and on the Email Notification Form in the footer area of each page. A user must provide accurate contact information (such as name, email, and possibly telephone) in order for us to respond to information requests.

Account Set Up
We also request information when setting up an account – whether as a user or a sculptor.   A user or sculptor must provide accurate contact information (name, email, etc.) in order to establish an account on our site.

We may store information that we collect through cookies, log files, clear gifs, and/or third parties to create a profile of our users. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users that details their viewing preferences. Consequently, collected information may be tied to the user's personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the site for the user. This profile is used to tailor a user’s visit to our Web site, and to direct pertinent marketing promotions to them. We do not share your profile with other, unnecessary, third parties (see Third Party Intermediaries).

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. We use session ID cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. If users reject the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the user may be limited in some areas of our site.

Log Files
Like most standard Web site servers, we use log files to gather statistical information about visitors to our Web site. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends. We administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are in no way linked to personally identifiable information.

Communications from the Site

Special Offers and Updates
Users who have expressed an interest in receiving communications from us, may occasionally receive emails (i.e., announcements, etc.). Out of respect for the privacy of our users, we include the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see the Choice and Opt-out sections.

Customer Service
We may communicate with users on a regular basis to provide general information about new sculpture and/or sculptors who join the Sculpture Showcase. If you have questions about a specific sculpture, we recommend you contact the artist directly. The Sculpture Showcase was developed to 'introduce' visitors to a selection of high-quality sculpture available for purchase. A sculptor's acceptance on the Sculpture Showcase web site does not imply endorsement, and users who purchase sculpture from an artist listed on the Sculpture Showcase do so at their own risk as with any online purchase.

Legal Disclaimer – Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.

Third Party Intermediaries
We partner with the sculptors on our web site to help connect them to potential customers. Because any purchase of sculpture is done directly between the user and the sculptor (and not through the Sculpture Showcase), a user's personal financial information is NEVER shared with or provided to Sculpture Showcase or Sculpture in the South.

Business Transitions
In the event the Sculpture Showcase goes through a business transition, such as a merger or being acquired by another non-profit organization or company, etc., users’ personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.

Users are given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site. Users who no longer wish to receive our communications may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying via email and typing "Unsubscribe" in the subject line or emailing us via the Contact form.

This web site may contain links to other sites. Sculpture in the South is not responsible for the privacy practices of any other site with a link on this site. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

Online Security
A user's personal financial information will NEVER be requested via our forms or via an email from us. Our Contact form generates an email that is not encrypted for security. Because of this, users should NEVER offer unsolicited financial information via email or via our Contact form. Users should also be aware that email links to sculptors found on our site generate an email that is not encrypted for security. We recommend that users who communicate with sculptors via our sute should NEVER provide personal or financial information via email. Purchases of sculpture from a sculptor listed on our site should be made directly via phone with the sculptor.

Offline Security
We take every precaution possible to protect our users’ information offline. All of our users’ information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a bookkeeper or office manager) are granted access to personally identifiable information.

If users have any questions about the security of our web site, users can send a message through our Contact Us form.

Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information
If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), or if a user no longer desires to be contacted by us, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users’ personally identifiable information. This can usually be done with a message through our Contact Us form. Or, contact us by telephone or postal mail at the contact information listed below.

Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If, however, we are going to use users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email and by posting a notice on our Web site for 30 days.
